Friday Chat Check-in
Friday Chat Check-in | March 27, 2020
In this week's Friday Chat Check-in, Fr. Don reminds us that although we are social distancing, we are called to do so in unity in order to protect others. He encourages us to call, text, and Facetime our friends, family, and those who are more isolated than ever. It is also vital that we take time to seek stillness. Be honest with your emotions. Find a way to write down, document, or vlog your experiences. This is a good way to let out your emotions and process these unprecedented times - it can also assist with talking to God and increasing our daily prayer.
As always, Fr. Don is praying for you and your families. Have a blessed weekend!
A few items to take care of before we get started with Mass... Let us remember that THIS *IS* OUR HOLY MASS! Let us prepare for this in the same manner as you would if you were walking into our church building. If you are in your jammies, we will let it pass this time, but remember to put away all distractions, shut off the TV and silence your cellphones, Center yourself to be present in HIS presence. If you want to follow along with the readings you can find them on MyParish App. or get them from the Holy Heroes link below, or USCCB. Below you will find the prayer to pray when it is time for Communion.
And thank you for honoring our God with this weekly obligation! God Bless!
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. ~ Amen.
Mass For the Weekend Obligation
On this Fifth Sunday of Lent, Fr. Don discusses entitlement in our faith. Do we live our Catholic Christian lives feeling entitled to certain comforts and pleasures? Or do we live our faith with great hope and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ? It is now more important than ever that we put our trust in God and His will for our lives.
Feel free to watch and participate in this Mass during the time you would normally attend Mass. We will be live streaming daily Mass on weekdays at 9am. Weekend Mass videos will be published every Saturday at 5pm CST.
Please continue to pray for our Church, our priests, and our bishop as well as those affected by the coronavirus. God bless you and your families!
Here is one prayer to St. Isidore of Seville: ... Grant we beseech Thee that through the intercession of Saint Isidore, bishop and doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee, and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter.
